What are the bearings?

Publish Time: 2022-01-26     Origin: Site

Many friends don't know much about the bearings, what are the bearings? here we introduce some basic knowledge about bearings, and anybody who want to learn more about the bearings, please contact with TKW Directly. The basic structure of the bearing: the inside of the bearing is generally composed of an inner ring, an outer ring, rolling elements and a cage. For sealed bearings, there are lubricants or greases, sealing or shielded.

Rolling bearing part:

The part where the rolling elements roll on the ring is called the raceway, and the raceway of the ball bearing is also called the raceway. The rolling elements are between the raceways of the inner ring and the outer ring. The rolling elements include steel balls, cylindrical rollers, needle rollers, tapered rollers and spherical rollers. The size and quantity of the rolling elements directly affect the speed and load ability of the bearing.

Rolling bearings have a variety of structural forms, each type of bearing has its own characteristics, their common advantages are:

1. The starting friction is small, and the difference between the starting friction and the dynamic friction is also small.

2. International dimensions and interchangeability, suitable for mass production

3. The wear is less than that of ordinary sliding bearings, and the mechanical accuracy can be maintained for a long time.

4. Easy to lubricate, less lubricant consumption and low maintenance cost

5. It can be easily used at high or low temperature

6. The surrounding components matched with the bearing have a simple structure, which is convenient for inspection and maintenance

7. The rigidity of the bearing can be improved by applying preload

8. Except for a few bearings (such as thrust bearings), general bearings can bear radial load and axial load at the same time

1. Bearings are classified according to the load direction or the nominal contact angle that they can bear.

Radial bearing -- mainly used for rolling bearing bearing radial load, its contact angle ranges from 0 degrees to 45 degrees, and is divided into:

-- Radial Contact Bearings -- Radial Bearings with a Contact Angle of 0°

-- Angular Contact Radial Bearings -- Bearings with angular contact greater than 0° to 45°

Thrust bearing - mainly used for rolling bearings bearing axial load, according to the different contact angle is divided into

-- Axial contact bearing Thrust bearing with a contact angle of 90 degrees

-- Angular contact thrust bearing, the contact angle is greater than 45 degrees and less than 90 degrees

2. Bearings are classified according to the type of rolling elements

Ball bearing -- the rolling elements are balls

Ball bearings are divided into deep groove ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, thrust ball bearings

Roller bearing -- the rolling elements are rollers

Roller bearings are divided into

Cylindrical Roller Bearing--The rolling element is a cylindrical roller bearing, and the ratio of the length to the diameter of the cylindrical roller is less than or equal to 3,

Needle Roller Bearings -- Bearings in which the rolling elements are needle rollers

Tapered Roller Bearings -- Bearings whose rolling elements are tapered rollers

Spherical Roller Bearings -- Bearings whose rolling elements are spherical rollers

3. Bearings are classified according to the self-aligning function

1) Self-aligning bearing -- the raceway is spherical, which can adapt to the angular deviation and angular motion between the axis lines of the two raceways

2) Non-aligning bearings -- bearings that can resist the angular deviation of the raceway axis

4. Bearings are classified according to the number of rolling elements row.

1) Single row bearing -- bearing with one row of rolling elements

2) Double row bearing -- bearing with two rows of rolling elements

3) Multi-row bearings -- bearings with more than two rows, such as three-row, four-row bearings

5. Bearings are classified according to whether their parts can be separated or not

1) Separable bearing -- bearing with separable parts

2) Non-separable bearing -- a bearing in which the rings cannot be freely separated after the bearing is finally assembled

According to the structural shape, operating characteristics, suitable occasions or sealing conditions, it can also be divided into full-complement bearings, high-speed bearings, high-temperature bearings, bearings without outer ring, seals bearings, bearings with snap grooves, miniature bearings, extra large bearings, heavy duty bearings, bearing with housing, high precision bearings etc.
