A groove or ridge made of metal or other materials that can bear, fix, guide moving devices or equipment and reduce friction. The longitudinal grooves or ridges on the surface of the guide rail are used to guide and fix machine parts, special equipment, instruments, etc. Guide rails, also known as slide rails, linear guide rails, linear slide rails, are used in linear reciprocating motion applications. They have a higher rated load than linear bearings and can bear a certain torque at the same time to achieve high-precision linear motion under high load.

The application of guide rails in our daily life is also very common. For example, the sliding grooves of sliding doors, the chute on the upper part of curtains and the rails of trains are all specific applications of guide rails. The guide rail can also be used on any machine or equipment that requires sliding sliding.

Linear guideways provides linear motion by re-circulating rolling elements between a profiled rail and a bearing block. The coefficient of friction on a linear guideway is only 1/50 compared to a traditional slide and they are able to take loads in all directions.
