EASIER provides electrically insulated bearings, to protect against damages caused by electric currents. These bearings have an electrically insulating coating on the outer ring (VL0241 execution), or on the inner ring (VL2071 execution). The inner ring coating can be made from bore diameters above and including 70 mm. The coating consists of a nominal 100-µm thick aluminium oxide layer and is applied by a unique coa- ting process using plasma-spraying technology.
High Precision Insulated Bearing 6224/C3VL0241 is Deep Groove Ball Bearing design. its dimension is 120×215×40mm, it has the same dimension and the same design with normal chrome steel 6224/C3 bearing. but the most different is 6224-C3J20AA bearing with Aluminium Oxide Coating. the coating can Electrical Resistance Voltages up to 3000 V DC. This kind of bearing are widely used in high quality demand application like traction motor.

Electrically Insulated Bearing have outer ring coating, inner ring coating and ceramic material rolling elements. Because of the higher cost of using ceramic material rolling elements, in most cases, the inner ring or outer ring 50-200 μm is used. Thick ceramic coating. The first two coatings are plasma spraying method to coat ceramic material on the bearing surface. This coating still maintains its insulation performance in a humid environment. The ceramic material rolling element insulated bearing is the rolling element. Using ceramic materials, it has excellent current resistance capability.
Coated outer ring
Bearings with an electrically insulating coating on the external surfaces of the outer ring are the most common Insulated types. They are:
• Recommended for medium-sized motors using bearing sizes with a bore diameter < 120 mm
• Suitable for all housing types
• Can be applied to bearings with an outside diameter > 80 mm
• Identiied by the sufixes VL0241 and VL0246
Bearings with an electrically insulating coating on the external surfaces of the inner ring provide enhanced protection against electric current damage, as the smaller coated surface area offers higher impedance. They are:
• Recommended for larger-sized motors using bearing sizes with a bore diameter > 120 mm
• Can be applied to bearings with a bore diameter > 70 mm
• Identiied by the sufix VL2071 and VL2076
