Bushings are suitable for rotating, oscillating and linear movements, whereas straight (cylindrical) bushings can accommodate radial loads only and flanged bushings can accommodate radial and axial loads in one direction.
Each combination of bushing design and material has characteristic properties and makes a bushing particularly suitable for certain applications.
Solid bronze bushings
Sintered bronze bushings
Wrapped bronze bushings
PTFE composite bushings
POM composite bushings
PTFE polyamide bushings
Filament wound bushings
The factors that are most important to consider when selecting the material and surface finish of the counter surface on which the bushing slides are the load conditions such as load, angle of oscillation, type of movement, and environmental influences.
Where there is a risk of corrosion, the counter face should be sufficiently resistant. Corrosion scars in the counter surface and for example abrasive particulate contamination as a by-product of corrosion increase the surface roughness accelerate wear. In this cases, the use of stainless steel or a surface treatment such as hard chromium, nickel plating or electrolytic oxidation should be considered.
This page provides bushing type specific recommendations on the following design considerations, as far as applicable:
shaft and housing tolerances
shaft roughness and hardness
material and surface finish of counter surfaces
design of associated components
sealing solutions
Self-lubricating bearings are divided into composite material self-lubricating bearings, solid-inlaid self-lubricating bearings, bimetallic self-lubricating bearings, and special material self-lubricating bearings. Different self-lubricating bearings are selected according to different uses and working conditions.
-- Metal-polymer self-lubricating bearings
-- Metallic self-lubricating bearings
-- Non-metallic self lubricating bearings
-- High-performance steel self-lubricating bearings
-- Marginal-lubricating Bearings
-- Metal-polymer marginal-lubricating bearings
-- Metallic marginal-lubricating bearings
One of the major types of solid inlaid self-lubricating bearings (JDB for short name) is a novel lubricating bearing that combines the characteristics of metal bearings and oil-free lubrication bearings. The metal matrix bears the load, and the specially formulated solid lubricating material plays the role of lubrication.
It has the characteristics of high bearing capacity, impact resistance, high temperature resistance, and strong self-lubricating ability. It is especially suitable for heavy load, low speed, reciprocating or swinging and other occasions that are difficult to lubricate and form an oil film. It is not afraid of water wash and other acid erosion. And scour. The products have been widely used in metallurgical continuous casting machines, rolling equipment, mining machinery, molds, lifting machinery, textile machinery, wind power generation, ships, steam turbines, water turbines, injection molding machines and equipment production lines. The wear resistance is twice that of ordinary bushings.
The advantages of self-lubricating bearings (oil-free bearings), most of the bearings used in various machinery industries are balls, needles and the like, but a small part of them have adopted self-lubricating bearings. It is believed that lubricated bearings will become the dominant bearing in the near future.
